Let's talk

Claudia Taylor

Principal

I help to manage, grow and develop LCP’s specialist trustee secretarial and governance consulting team. Joining LCP in 2007 and supporting pension scheme clients as a consultant since 1999, I specialise in the provision of professional trustee secretary, governance, consulting and pensions manager support to final salary and defined contribution pension scheme trustees and sponsors.

As an experienced trustee secretary I act as an extension of the trustee board, taking on responsibility to ensure schemes are run well and helping trustees to stay one step ahead of the ever changing regulatory and legislative landscape by looking forward and good planning. My clients benefit from my broad consulting experience, strong technical knowledge, clear communication, practical approach and tailored way of working. What I particularly enjoy is understanding each different client’s unique circumstances and needs and finding a way to help.

My experience is broad and, in addition to all regular pension scheme business, recently has included focus on:

  • supporting sponsors and trustees to introduce benefit changes
  • reviewing trustee board and committee structures, terms of reference and trustee policies
  • assessing board effectiveness and recommending actions to address any gaps
  • strong management of administration services providers and performance improvement plans

Within LCP I support and train other staff to carry out the trustee secretary role and contribute to LCP’s Trustee Secretary Forum for in-house trustee secretaries and pensions managers, sharing experience, ideas and best practice.

Claudia Taylor understands: the scheme; my aspirations for it; the challenges; the technical issues; the politics and how she can contribute to my own thinking and thus add value to the scheme.
