Head of LCP’s Health Analytics team, Dr Jonathan Pearson-Stuttard has finished his three-year tenure as Head of the Royal Society for Public Health.

He took on the role just as the UK emerged from the pandemic. Over the last few years the UK has seen increasing widening health inequalities, disrupted access to routine healthcare, and new pressures on mental and physical wellbeing. He believes that there are three issues that stand out as deserving of increased focus, each with harmful impacts on health and economic inequalities: vaccination rates, long-term sickness and productivity and alcohol.

You can read this article he has written for the journal Perspectives in Public Health, reflecting on his time as Chair and the challenges facing public health in the UK.
