Standard Life has today announced a partnership with a range of institutional investors to expand its Pension Risk Transfer business.
Charlie Finch, Partner at LCP, commented:
“This partnership is designed to help Standard Life compete at the largest end of the buy-in market. To date only three insurers have written transactions over £2bn, Legal & General, Pension Insurance Corporation and Rothesay. The buy-in market has been extremely competitive over 2026 with LCP clients benefiting from record pricing. Based on our discussions with schemes, we are expecting to see growth in the number of larger schemes using buy-ins so this a positive development for them, which demonstrates confidence in the UK PRT market by a range of institutional investors.”
