I am a long-standing Scheme Actuary advising a diverse range of schemes ranging from £100m to £6bn. Currently I have eight Scheme Actuary roles.

I provide advice on all aspects of pensions and employee benefits, in addition to being a regular speaker on a variety of pensions related topics.

My style aims to strike the right balance between providing strategic direction through pragmatic advice and having a thorough understanding of the detail. I take ultimate responsibility for the work undertaken on the clients that I lead, working closely with large teams to ensure that the work required from us is completed on time and budget.

I believe the crucial aspect of the role is having a good rapport with the trustee, as well as sponsoring employers. My clients tell me that my main strength is explaining the complex in straightforward, intuitive and accessible terms that can equip trustee boards to make decisions with the full understanding of the issues.

I am a firm believer that advisers should advise and I am rarely (if ever) caught sitting on the fence.
