Shayala McRae
I am a qualified actuary bringing more than 35 years' pensions experience to my work within LCP’s Pensions Research team to support my colleagues – and through them our clients – with my technical expertise and familiarity with pensions legislation and by having my finger on the pulse of developments in the industry.
I analyse and advise on the thornier questions generated by legislation and industry developments – with particular expertise in the areas of scheme funding, early leaver protections (including anti-franking!) and pensions tax – and communicate these, often complex, issues in a manner that is clear and accessible.
I was delighted to be chosen as the Professional Pensions’ Women in Pensions “Unsung Hero” award in 2025.
My industry roles include chairing the Legislation Committee of the Society of Pension Professionals and Deputy Chair of its Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Group. I am also proud to have sat on the Committee of LCP’s Women’s Network since its inception – find out more about diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI) at LCP here.
