The DB Exchange: Sharing ideas, testing perspectives and shaping decisions
Taking place at the iconic Barbican Centre, this year’s DB pensions conference is designed to welcome different voices, build connections and inspire collaboration by bringing together trustees, sponsors, in-house teams and industry leaders.
Across a plenary programme, focused breakout sessions, and interactive exhibits, we’ll cover a range of topics including the new DB landscape, systemic risk and investing for systems, longevity and strategic choice, and much more. You’ll hear fresh perspectives, gain practical insight and leave with forward-thinking ideas to take back to your scheme.
Whether you attend for the full day or join for selected sessions, the day offers an opportunity to exchange ideas and explore the topics that matter most to DB schemes in a setting designed for open discussion.
-
This discussion-based session will explore the opportunities, challenges and potential risks of different endgame options ranging from superfunds, alternative consolidators or traditional insurance de-risking to low-risk or surplus-generating run on.
-
2026 is a pivotal year for pension scheme governance, with heightened regulatory requirements alongside growing demands around operational resilience and cyber risk. This practical session explores how governing bodies stay strategic and effective amid rising expectations, incorporating learnings from establishing Ireland’s new 750,000 member automatic-enrolment scheme from scratch.
-
Schemes and sponsors are facing a wave of complex change and will need to prioritise tax, legal, data and administration challenges and prepare for significant additional pressure through member queries, complaints and the need to investigate discrepancies arising from the launch of pensions dashboards. In this session will get into the detail and help turn these demands into practical action, prioritise effectively and prepare for the disruption ahead.
