Awarded prestigious Gold Standard for LGBT+ equality in financial services

Pensions & benefits Diversity / DEI LCP news

LCP is one of only six financial service companies to have been awarded a Gold standard for LGBT+ equality within financial services by LGBT Great, an organisation that specialises in developing LGBT+ diversity and inclusion within the investment and savings industry.

LGBT Great runs an Inclusion Index Benchmarking Tracker (iiBT) which measures and assesses firm’s approaches to 10 key areas, including executive sponsorship, strategy, policy, planning, clients, and visibility. It provides an industry specific lens and enables benchmarking against relevant industry peers to empower financial services organisations to achieve their full LGBT+ diversity, equity, and inclusion potential.

LCP, alongside Fidelity International, Legal and General Group, Blackrock, Janus Henderson Investors and M&G plc have been awarded the Gold Standard because they scored over 80% across all ten iiBT diversity and inclusion indicators.

Aaron Punwani, CEO of LCP, commented: “It’s fantastic news that we as a firm are formally recognised for our inclusive approach and firm commitment to LGBT+ equality in the workplace. This is testament to the hard work and passion that our employee-led LGBT+ Network and wider D&I committee have put into helping us break down barriers and make our firm and industry a more inclusive and supportive place for all our people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.”

Jess Horner and Daniel Jacobson, Co-Chairs of LCP’s LGBT+ Network, added: “We are so pleased that LCP has achieved this award. As a network we have worked hard to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and promote inclusion both internally and externally with a fantastic group of Partner Champions who are really strong allies. We’re thrilled that our work and commitment and the enthusiasm and engagement of everyone at LCP has been recognised in this way. With issues around gender identity in the news and a rise in homophobia, it’s more important than ever to make sure that our industry is inclusive, open and a welcoming and safe environment for all LGBT+ people.”
