LCP has once again been named by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) as a signatory of the UK Stewardship Code 2020.

Service provider signatories of the Code must demonstrate high standards of support for stewardship through the services they provide to clients and the role they play in the investment community. The Code defines stewardship as the responsible allocation, management and oversight of capital to create long-term value for clients and beneficiaries, leading to sustainable benefits for the economy, the environment and society.

LCP was assessed on its fifth stewardship report, which outlines how we have helped clients apply stewardship principles to their investments and activities over the year to 31 March 2025.

Key highlights include:

  • We developed and launched LCP Influence, our stewardship service, to drive greater collective influence.
  • We rolled out our climate policy advocacy asks – 58 asset owners signed up (£187bn assets) and they were used in 10 high impact places.
  • We launched best practice principles for investment managers’ systemic stewardship.
  • We released the results of our LDI managers’ climate policy advocacy review and provided feedback to drive improvements.
  • We launched our 2024 RI survey of investment managers, focussing on ESG foundations, climate change, stewardship and systemic stewardship.
  • We released our fourth assessment of buy-in providers’ responsible investment practices, assessing and understanding sustainability approaches.

Commenting, Zuhair Mohammed, Head of Investment at LCP, said: “We are very pleased that we have maintained our status as a signatory of the UK Stewardship Code. Our signatory status recognises our continued commitment to supporting our clients in this area, as well as our contribution to driving improvements within the industry.”

“Over the year we continued to focus on addressing systemic risks to our clients’ investment objectives that are posed by issues such as climate change.  We are also proud to have launched LCP Influence, to address the stewardship challenges we heard about from our clients.”
