Joe Kim

Principal, Real World Evidence

I am a Principal in LCP Health’s Real World Evidence team, with more than 30 years’ experience across industry and academia in pharmacoepidemiology, drug safety and real-world evidence generation.

I have deep expertise in designing and delivering real-world studies to support regulatory decision-making and demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of medicines. My experience spans a broad range of therapy areas, including oncology, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, and vaccines.

Before joining LCP, I was Global Head of Safety Epidemiology at AstraZeneca, where I led a team of pharmacoepidemiologists delivering global safety and effectiveness studies. Previously, I held senior roles at IQVIA, Roche and Amgen. At IQVIA, I established and grew the European real-world evidence scientific team and acted as principal investigator on more than 250 real-world evidence projects.

Alongside my role at LCP, I am an Honorary Professor in Pharmacoepidemiology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Over more than 20 years, I have contributed to research and postgraduate teaching, as well as training for drug regulators, industry scientists and academic researchers in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance.
