James Constable and Jamie Gillespie join LCP Delta to strengthen advice for large energy users
Energy transition C&I research
LCP Delta has appointed James Constable and Jamie Gillespie to strengthen its commercial and industrial energy team, supporting large energy users and their energy suppliers and service providers as they navigate increasingly complex decisions about energy costs, investment and decarbonisation.
At Baringa, James worked with corporate clients to develop and execute their energy strategies, alongside advising business energy suppliers on their offerings and supporting developers in the market. Jamie’s work focused on decision making across the energy sector with investors, utilities and energy-consuming businesses, including corporate decarbonisation, renewable power purchase agreements and flexibility and their role in managing businesses’ exposure to energy costs and carbon emissions.
At LCP Delta, they will work with large energy users to assess their energy position, understand market risks and identify commercially viable opportunities. This includes evaluating procurement and hedging strategies, corporate power purchase agreements, on-site generation, battery storage and demand flexibility, and developing tailored energy strategies and investment roadmaps.
The appointments come at a critical time for large energy users, as businesses face mounting pressure to control energy costs, protect competitiveness and deliver on decarbonisation commitments. With further bill increases forecast, the financial consequences of energy decisions are becoming more significant. Changes in the generation mix are also reshaping power price patterns, making when businesses consume electricity increasingly important alongside how they buy it. A coordinated approach to procurement, flexibility and investment in on-site assets has never been more important.
James and Jamie will combine their experience advising corporate energy users with LCP Delta’s research, market forecasts and expertise across power markets, storage, flexibility, heat and electrification. This will help clients assess the financial and commercial implications of different options and prioritise investment.
For large energy users, energy strategy has never been higher on the agenda. Businesses need to balance cost certainty and resilience with decarbonisation, while deciding where investment will deliver the greatest value. James and Jamie bring valuable experience advising these organisations and have a strong understanding of the decisions they face. Combined with LCP Delta’s market insight and analytical capabilities, this expertise will help clients make confident decisions about how they buy, use and invest in energy.
